Planning A Romantic Honeymoon
A honeymoon should be a special time of relaxation and bonding. Yet, failing to appropriately plan a honeymoon can result in it being frustrating and stressful. Here is some advice to make sure your honeymoon goes as well as it possibly can.
The most important thing to do is to talk over with your fiance each others preferences regarding the honeymoon. Do not presume that you already know the type of honeymoon your fiance would choose. Have a thorough discussion of location, budget, duration and accommodation. Both of you need to initially create your own list of preferences and then you should compare to find aspects that overlap.
Consult with travel agents as they can be a great help with planning a honeymoon and can advise you based on you and your spouse’s preferences. Honeymoons are a type of vacation in which travel agents still receive commissions, meaning that they will commonly put extra effort in to helping you.
Once you have met with a travel agent and know the approximate cost, make a savings plan and start putting a money aside for it each week. You could also ask the travel agent if they provide a honeymoon registry service, which gives guests the option to contribute to your honeymoon costs in lieu of a wedding gift.
Try to pre-pay as much as possible. Incidental expenses like souvenirs and tips, tend to be manageable expenses; however, if you forget to budget for extra luggage, car rental or day trips, it is easy to find yourselves short of money when away.
Having budgeted your money and booked, you only need to pack. Do this at least a week before departing because it will be one less thing to concern yourself with in the hectic approach to your wedding. If you leave it until the last minute, the more likelihood there is of you forgetting something.
