The Theobroma Cacao or ‘the food of the Gods’ is what we all know as the cocoa tree. It’s origins can be traced back to South America’s rain forests, particularly to Central America, although historians are still at variance over certain facts surrounding this tree.
It is suggested that the Mayans first grew the cacao tree in 300 AD, although others point to inadequate evidence that it was grown or at least harvested in around 3,000 BC. The Aztecs also used the cacao, but from about 1100 AD.
The chocolate (drink) that we all know today was called ‘xocoatl’. It was a very special beverage that was made out of cacao, chilies, anise seed, vanilla, corn meal and some other spices. It is said that only royalty were permitted to drink it and then only from golden chalices, which were to be used for the purpose only once.
The cacao tree is very responsive to its environment and it most often grows in the shade of the rain forest canopy. If just for this reason alone, chocolate lovers should join forces with the environmentalists to save the rain forests so that the cacaos will survive.

In January 1848, James Marshall was overseeing the building of a saw mill for his boss, when he saw an odd rock glinting in the upturned earth.
He was not sure whether it was gold or not and did not want to get people’s aspirations up. So Marshall attempted to break the yellow rock with a hammer. It did not crack, but it did dent. just like gold would. The woman who was cooking meals for the saw mill construction crew, tried another test by boiling the rock in lye.
They boiled it all day, but it did not change colour. So, they handed the rock over to the mill’s owner, Mr. John Sutter, who also conducted a few tests. Eventually, everyone agreed that this rock was indeed gold.
It seems that the Sierra Nevada Mountains hid huge stores of gold, but that over tens of thousands of years, erosion had loosened up gold nuggets and the mountain streams flushed them down to the bottom of the mountains. Sutter’s property was situated between two rivers and so was likely to yield great wealth.

In most modern cultures, it is becoming an expensive thing to want to
celebrate a wedding in a big way! Therefore, it is very common to see
parents spending years saving towards their daughter’s wedding so that her most wonderful day will remain in the memories of people who grace
the occasion, for a very long time to come. One of the considerable
financial expenditures is the purchase of the wedding rings for the
bride and groom. Out of all the valuable metallic rings, platinum
rings are in fact trendy options for most modern couples.
In platinum rings, the base metal is usually platinum while diamonds
and other stones are also incorporated to enhance its beauty. Platinum
is a glowing metal which is very attractive. And when talking about
durability, gold cannot stand in its way! The intrinsic value of this
precious metal gives it the appeal for people who admire the
uniqueness of putting on such a precious metal on the fingertips. Due
to its extreme purity, the metal itself has a glowing white lustre. It
is also interesting to note that platinum does not become rusty. So,
you are saved from having to worry that your “symbol of love” might
disappear with time as the metal it is made of might tarnish. Platinum
rings will continue to remind you of your other half while still
maintaining “its radiant smile” to you for a long time to come even
when other gifts do not stand the test of time!

Some people do not like being alone on St. Valentine’s Day. Younger women in particular feel that being alone on St. Valentine’s Day bears a stigma, which makes them feel depressed and abandoned. But just because someone is not in a relationship, it does not mean they cannot have a good time. I will give a couple of suggestions below to help you have a time to remember.
1] Call up all your single girlfriends and go clubbing. Many young men like to dance every now and again or to their favourite songs, but they do not want to dance non-stop. On the other hand, young women often do like to dance non-stop, so you may have a better time without a boyfriend in a club.
2] Another good idea for single girls on Valentine’s Day is to give a movie night at your home. You can invite over all of your single friends and hire a few comedies. Instead of being sad and miserable, you and your friends could watch the movies and take the rise out of the characters in the movie.

If you are feeling romantic and you want to be alone with your loved one in a romantic place far from petty distractions, why not go to Paris and take a cruise? The cruise ships are beautiful and offer haute cuisine with fine wines and a wide selection of dishes. Service on board is excellent and if they know that it is a special trip for you, they will go out of their way to make it even more special.
Just by choosing the city of Paris as your venue, you will be conveying the idea of romance, because as everyone knows, Paris has the reputation of being the capital of the world of romance.
So, how do you go about booking one of these cruises? Well, clearly, first of all, you have to be in Paris. This is not a difficulty, if you live in Europe as there are flights and sleeper trains. If you are American, you will have to take the longer-term view and start saving for next year.

When most people hear the term ‘gold ring,’ the first thing that comes to minds is the plain old band of gold given at weddings. This connotation is actually quite limiting, and does an injustice to the many other occasions that this kind of jewelry is good for.
Remember that gold rings aren’t always simple bands with no distinctions. Many of them have amazing and brilliant gemstones. Still others use engravings and metalworking to achieve a refined and radiant sense of aesthetic beauty.
There isn’t a person out there that scoffs at the value and beauty of a quality gold ring. This is one gift which anyone can recognize as something alluring and classy. This is true no matter what kind of gold ring it happens to be.
Gold ring gifts can be incredibly personal depending on how you approach the jewelry. By selecting the alloy of the ring you can effectively pick a fitting tone and hue. Adding gemstones or engravings is also useful in molding the ring to a particular person’s tastes.
There really isn’t a wrong occasion to give a gold ring for. Some of the more popular ones include birthdays, weddings, engagements, graduations, anniversaries, or religious holidays. Sometimes no reason is the best reason of all.

Wedding ceremony is the connecting of two relatives as one through the joining together of two personals. One of the largest pieces of the marriage ceremony is when the bride and groom switch over the wedding rings.
Wedding rings are in general the metal ring that is either easily that or beautified with diamonds or other nuggets. counting on where you are in the world would select which finger you have to use the ring on.
Wedding rings symbolize the individuals’ commitment to each other and their relationship.
Often in numerous cultures wedding rings are the present as a follow up to the other present that have been offered as a appointment ring or even a agreement ring.
Often the couple will decide to have their wedding rings engraved with a name, date, or special saying. Wedding rings are available in many different metals and styles.
Perhaps the most popular are bands made out of platinum, white gold, or yellow gold, but you can find bands in a variety of other metals. Additionally, though diamonds are the most common gems that are usually added to wedding rings there are a variety of different gemstones that you can have added to your wedding rings like rubies, sapphires, or emeralds.
